Note: Was Ebenezer's third wife. Marriage intention listed Ebenezer Putnam and Mrs. Cynthia Conning. Who was her first husband?
Probably Isaac Conning who married Cynthia L. Webb in Nov of 1826 in Portsmouth, NH. This Issac Conning probably resided in Kittery, Maine.
Cynthia L. Putnam, age 45, was living in Groton, MA for the 1850 census with Abby C, age 7. Mary A Smith, age 5, Harrison? Hartwell, age 28 and Henry Estabrook, age 24. Middlesex Co. Roll 323 page 67.
I can't find her on the 1860 census. I even checked Groton page by page.
Probate Index of Worcester County, Massachusetts has Cynthia L. Putnam administration papers - Leominster - 1885. Case no. 4063. Need to check them out.
Where did I get her birthplace as Maine? I thought I got it from census records, but the 1850 census has her born in Mass.
