Note: One of the first settlers of Friend's Cove, Bedford Co., PA about 1763.
Member of the Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention in 1774, signer of the PA Consitituion in 1776.
Elected Bedford Co. sheriff three terms. 1779-1785.
My family information here is probably a bit messed up. In a bio of John Cessna, Waterman, Watkins History of Bedford County, p. 354, states, "he was the father of 13 children. At the age of seventy, he married a second wife, and of this union five children were born." I have 11 children's names and don't know a second wife's name or which children might be hers.
