Brooks, Joshua Deacon (b. BEF 1632, d. 10 OCT 1698)
Note: Settled in the south part of Concord which became a part of Lincoln, and it is supposed sold his paternal estate in Medford to his brother Caleb. It is conjectured that he learned his trade of Capt. Mason, and, soon after, married his daughter. He was admitted freeman May 26, 1652. [source: Bond's Watertown, p. 720]
I don't know Joshua's birthdate but Bond [History of Watertown] gives Caleb's birthdate as 1632 and Joshua must have been the oldest son as he received double portion of the lands granted to the other heirs.

Note: Hugh Mason, aged 28, and wife Esther, aged 22, embarked in the Francis, of Ipswich, John Cutting, Master, the last of April, 1634. Leiutenant Mason was accepted as Captain by the Court, in April 1652. He was, by the General Court, first appointed Commissioner to end small causes in May, 1643; and in May, 1658, upon the request of the inhabitants of Watertown, he was "empowered to solemnize marriages at Watertown." This was very soon after the removal of Elder Richard Browne to Charlestown. April 1658, he was, by the County Court, made one of the committe of the house of correction. Note: Neither the date of his arrival, nor the place of his embarkation has been ascertained; but there is reason to suppose that he came from London. He first settled in Waterwon, and was one the "townsmen then inhabiting" to whom the Beaver Brook plowlands were granted in 1636. He was admitted freeman Dec. 7, 1636 while he resided in Watertown. It is evident that he could not the be Thomas Brooke who embarked on May 1635, then aged 20, in company with Rev. Peter Bulkeley. The second son, perhaps the third child, of Capt. Thomas Brooks of Concord was born in 1632, when the other Thomas was only 17 years old. He moved very soon from Watertown to Concord, of which he was captain, and he received various other appointments of honour and trust. The General Court appointed him constable of Concord, Dec. 8, 1638, and he was representative in 1642, '43, and '44 and four years after 1650. In 1640, he was apprizer of horses, cattle, etc., for the purpose of taxation, and apointed to prevent drunkenness among the Indians. In 1657, he purchased of the commissioners of the General Court, for 5 pounds, the right of carrying on the furtrade in Concord. In 1660, he and his son-in-law, Timothy Wheeler, jointly purchased of Edward Collins, 400 acres in Medford for 404 pounds, two-thirds for himself and one-third for Wheeler. His wife Grace died May 12, 1664, and the next Oct. 22, he sold his house-lot in Concord; but he remained in Concorde, and died there 21 May 1667, intestate. His inventory, by Deacon Merriam, Deacon Potter, and George Wheeler, amounted to 448 pounds, 3 shillings, and his debts 26 pounds, 5 shillings, 2 pence. His three sons and son-in-law presented the inventory for probate, June 16, 1667. [Source: Bond's History of Watertown, p. 719].
See Hallberg genealogy files for court agreement signed by sons Joshua, Caleb, and Gershom and son-in-law Timothy Wheeler.

Note: Daughter Mabel Jesse's birth certificate lists this as the 2nd child for mother Mabel Utley Howard. Since the recordings began in 1883, I'm going to assume the other child was born prior to 1883.
