Note: RICHARD HILDRETH
Somewhere around 1635, the exact date is not known, Richard and Thomas Hildreth, presumed to have been brothers, emigrated to the Massacusetts Bay Colony from England. A few years later a group of families left Lynn and sailed to Long Island. In 164
they founded the town of Southampton. Thomas Hildreth is listed among the early settlers of Southampton where he remained and became the progenitor of that branch of the Hildreths.
Richard Hildreth had come to New England with his wife Sarah and perhaps their two children, Jane and James.
Richard was admitted "freeman" to Massachusetts Bay Colony 10 May 1643 at the age of 35. They resided in Cambridge where Sarah Hildreth died in 1644. About a year later Richard married 2nd Elizabeth (___) and their first child was born 21 Sept 1646.
On May 10, 1653 Richard Hildreth was among 29 persons who petitioned the General Court for a colony on the Merrimack and Concord Rivers which was incorporated in 1655 as the town of Chelmsford. At about this time Richard Hildreth moved to Chelmsford
and settled west of Robins Hill in the vicinity of Heart Pond. His children and grandchildren occupied some lands that became the town of Westford when it was set off from Chelmsford in 1729.
Richard Hildreth died in 1688 at age 83. or died in 1692 at age 88.

Freeman, 1643;
Taxed in Woburn, Massachusetts 8 Sept 1645.
Widow's will 9 Sept. 1685, proved 1 Nov 1686.
From a remote period the Wynn, Wynne and Winn families were located in Wales. The family abroad has been most prominently represented by Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, of Wynnstay, Denbighshire, whose lineage is ancient and noble. Edward Winn, the progenitor of the Woburn family, it has been conjectured, was born in Wales, but more likely a native of England, related possibly to the Converses, Johnson’s, and other early Woburn families since of late years many of these relationships of early English immigrants been incontrovertibly established.
(1) Edward Winn came evidently, from England to America, bringing his wife Joanna, and children Ann, Elizabeth and Joseph. He settled first in Charlestown, Massachusetts, and was one of the commissioners for founding the contemplated town of Woburn. He one of the signers of the "town orders," or by-laws, for Woburn in 1640, one of the original planters of that town in 1641, and was taxed in the first tax rate of Woburn, 1645. He was also the father of the firstborn child. He was made freeman 1643, and selectman 1669. His will was made at Watertown, May 6, 1682, and he died September 5, 1682. His residence was near a place in Woburn, known as the Vineyard, at which was a watering-place (on present Park street), the house being on some spot near Middlesex, Chestnut and Kilby streets.
