"The Royal Line of Succession" by Patrick Montague-Smith, Pitkin Guides, 1986.
Note: Reigned from 959 to 975.
Note: FIFIELD
The first FIFIELD found is Wiliam Fifield who went from Newbury, Mass., to Hampton, N.H. in 1639. The death record 18 Dec 1700 styles him as "Old William, above 80."
Abigail Fifield's birth is nor recorded so one can only guess from which one of William's sons she is descended, probably Benjamin. She married Humphrey Holt of Andover about 1716 and died after 1754 (but is not the Abigail Holt who died 15 apr 1808
this is the widow of a different Humphrey Holt.)
Benjamin Fifield was born abt 1646 and died 1 Aug 1706. He married Mary Colcord. Benjamin had a son John born 21 Nov 1671. He also had children Shuah and Mehitable. His son John married Abigail and moved to Kingston,N.H. It seems reasonable that hti
John may have had a daughter Abigail, but we know that he had Shuah and Mehitable.
